Kindergarten students at Lindeman Elementary enjoyed a special visit from district high school students, who came to share their knowledge about chicks and the life cycle of a chicken.
Because the kindergartners had already learned about chicks in the classroom and had experienced their egg hatchings, this experience helped bring their learning to life in a meaningful way. The young learners were able to deepen their understanding of life cycles, animal needs, and observation by asking questions and making connections to what they had already studied.
“This truly turned out to be a unique experience which fostered connections across grade levels while encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and a love for discovery,” said Ms. Ellie Kring, whose class at Lindeman benefited from the opportunity.
